They are furniture manufacturers so they understand the whole process of restoring furniture and they finished the work within the time frame they quoted. After I picked up my bookcase, I dropped off an old mirror to be restored. The mirror had many coats of paint/stain that needed to be removed. The scroll work was broken off and missing. They recreated the missing scroll work and corner pieces and refinished the frame in a mahogany stain for $400. The mirror was finished in the time frame quoted and turned out more beautiful than I could have imagined. I highly recommend Montalbano's to my friends and I will use them in the future." We used a company recommended by Marshall Field's for similar work some years ago--their work was not nearly as good as Montalbano's, and their prices were considerably higher. The repair to the dog-chewed pedestal table is truly a work of art--you can't tell there was damage. Richard Montalbano is a pleasure to deal with--he responds promptly, does excellent work, completes the job when promised, and charges a fair price.
